Bullpen desk: New York gives Lane three years; Colorado adds three relievers
Lane’s $8.16 million contract leads a group of late-January relief signings.
New York gave free-agent reliever Corey Lane a three-year, $8.16 million contract on January 30. Colorado, meanwhile, assembled three one-year relief deals totaling $8 million across January 21 and 30.
The Crush signed Roger Paddock for $4 million and John Bailey for $2 million on January 21. Jim Locher followed on January 30 at $2 million. All three joined Colorado as free agents.
Elsewhere, Motown signed free-agent reliever Miguel Anchondo for one year and $1 million on January 30. Jamaica added free-agent reliever Spartak Polyn on January 31 for one year and $840,000.
Lane’s agreement is the only multiyear contract among those six signings; the others each cover one season.
