From Pensacola to Detroit: meet the Motown Soul
The Parrotheads are headed to Detroit, where the franchise will take the field as the Motown Soul in 2044.

Motown SoulFrom 2044PABL baseball is coming to Detroit. The Pensacola Parrotheads are relocating and will play as the Motown Soul beginning with the 2044 season.
The change brings a new city, name and look to the franchise. The Soul’s new logo carries the Motown name and a Detroit wordmark. Its completed 2043 season remains a Pensacola season in the record book.
That distinction matters when following the club’s history. Pensacola’s results belong to the Parrotheads through 2043. The Soul will begin adding Detroit results in 2044, with the same franchise continuing in a new home.
The move joins Portland’s relocation to Dallas on PABL’s offseason calendar. The Dallas Pegasi and Motown Soul will give the league two newly branded opponents when the next season begins.
