Pitching roundup: Reinecke joins New York; Dallas and Jamaica add relievers
Manny Rodriguez and Vinny Valles sign one-year deals, while Tijuana signs Andy Chaney and places him on the 60-day IL.
Sam Reinecke has a new stop. New York signed the free-agent starter to a minor-league contract with a major-league option on February 7, according to the official transaction log.
Dallas signed reliever Manny Rodriguez on February 5 to a one-year contract worth $2.24 million. A day earlier, Jamaica signed reliever Vinny Valles for one year and $2.08 million.
Tijuana signed reliever Andy Chaney to a minor-league contract with a major-league option on February 7. The Toros also placed him on the 60-day injured list that day. The transaction entries establish the signing and IL move, but do not specify an injury diagnosis or recovery timetable.
Boston's activity was broader: nine free-agent starting pitchers signed minor-league contracts from February 3 through February 8. Efrain Cruz and Antonio Lopez signed February 3; Grant Stigall on February 4; Pat Duffy and Kevin Toland on February 6; John Pauer and Edwin Silva on February 7; and Kyle Johnson and Alex Moreno on February 8. That is nine additions, without a promised rotation spot attached to any of the reported deals.
