Winter desk: Henderson joins Trout; Johns lands in Vancouver

Toms River and Vancouver add free agents, while Tijuana and Minnesota make smaller bullpen investments.

The offseason ledger has fresh entries for Toms River, Vancouver, Tijuana and Minnesota. The transactions span starting pitching, center field and two bullpen roles.

Toms River signed Billy Henderson to a three-year, $26 million contract on December 4. The 30-year-old starter has an 84-65 career record and a 3.96 ERA, with 1,145 strikeouts in 1,231.1 innings.

Vancouver added center fielder Kasey Johns on December 4, agreeing to a two-year deal worth $11.44 million.

Two earlier bullpen agreements carry smaller price tags: Tijuana signed Quinn Probst for two years and $2.14 million on November 27, and Minnesota signed Arturo Aloy for two years and $2.08 million on November 28.

Toronto also retained starting pitcher Mauricio Paz with a one-year, $1.3 million extension on November 27. That agreement keeps an existing player in place, alongside the Blue Sox's separate additions in free agency.
